QED welcomes Mr. David McGuire as our new President/CEO

The QED Group is pleased to announce that Mr. David McGuire has been named as our new President/CEO, effective September 26. Mr. McGuire brings a wide range of experience and expertise that will guide QED’s continued growth.

Mr. McGuire brings 21 years of experience in international development and has worked in 35 countries. For the past three years he served as Division Vice President for Health. During his three years at Abt he more than doubled his Division's portfolio in International Health. He is a globally recognized as a thought leader in public/private partnerships, social marketing, and malaria prevention. 

Previously, he served as Vice President and Director of the Center for Private Sector Health Initiatives at AED, where he also directed the USAID-funded NetMark Program for nine years. At the Futures Group, he worked on the SOMARC Project where he held overseas positions for seven years as Mali Country Manager, Deputy Regional Manager for NW Africa in Morocco and Asia Regional Manager based in Jakarta.

David has been an advisor to the Roll Back Malaria Partnership’s Vector Control Working Group and serves on the Advisory Committee to the Private Sector Delegation of the Roll Back Malaria Board.  He has been a guest lecturer to MBA students from Stanford, Georgetown, and the University of Michigan and is a frequent presenter at international conferences on Public/Private partnerships for health and sustainable development. 

David is fluent in French, has a B.A. from the University of Vermont, and completed graduate studies in International Relations and European Studies at the Institut Européen des Hautes Études Internationales in Nice, France.  He also recently completed an Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School in Global Strategic Management.

Mr. McGuire is following on the successful footsteps of Dennis De Santis, who oversaw tremendous growth at QED. Mr. De Santis will be retiring as President/CEO and joining the QED Board of Advisors.
