"Knowledge Management encourages people to contribute their know-how to a
collective body of knowledge so that others can benefit from it. Anyone who has
Googled something, posted a blog, contributed to a wiki, or used the Internet
for social networking intuitively understands the benefits of taxonomies,
distributed content management, and communities of practice, even though they
may never use those words to describe what they're doing."
Andrew Reuter leads QED’s Knowledge Management (KM) Practice and has
11 years of experience implementing, deploying, and adopting KM systems;
managing the changes associated with rolling out new processes and technologies;
and re-engineering the way organizations work. In addition to working with a
variety of KM technologies—including knowledge sharing systems, collaboration
platforms, document management tools, and data warehouses—Andy understands the
behavioral aspects of KM, including building virtual teams and communities of
practice.
Prior to joining QED in October 2004, Andy spent nine years at a Big Four
firm, where he worked on a wide variety of projects, including one to implement,
deploy, and upgrade a global collaborative extranet that allowed 9,700
professionals in 60 countries to use the Web to collaborate with 1,800 clients.
He also helped a state government implement a state-of-the-art financial
management system and data warehouse.
