International Technical, Operational, and Professional Support Services II

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) plays an important role in fulfilling the U.S. government’s commitment to improve health around the world. As part of its global mandate, the CDC implements programs to prevent HIV infection, improve care and support to people affected by the virus, and to build global capacity to fight the AIDS epidemic.

The International Technical, Operational, and Professional Support Services II (ITOPSS II) contract allows CDC to access outside expertise to accomplish its goals for improving global health. Under this contract, QED is providing support and professional services for tasks, studies and projects to be performed for the CDC in as many as 77 countries.

QED consultants take on assignments, ranging from six months to two years, to provide the CDC with expertise and services in such areas as:

  • HIV/AIDS
  • Operational and management services
  • Public health
  • Epidemiology
  • Laboratory (including quality assurance)
  • Data management informatics, information technology
  • Data research, study/program expertise
  • Writing/editing
  • Communication support
  • Avian and human influenza
  • Behavioral health
  • Disease specific expertise (e.g., TB, STIs, malaria, polio)

QED’s ITOPSS consortium includes Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, BroadReach Healthcare, and University Research Corporation (URC).
