Each year, USAID advises the U.S. congress on its Microenterprise funding and program results. The data for this report is collected through Microenterprise Results Reporting (MRR).
Following the completion of each USAID fiscal year, QED collects microenterprise funding data from dozens of USAID Field Missions and Operating Units, and program operations data from hundreds of USAID Implementing Partners. These data are then aggregated and analyzed to produce the congressionally mandated MRR Annual Report. QED also produces a corresponding Methodology & Statistical Annexes document each year as an additional resource for USAID and the general public.
The MRR website and integrated online database system greatly facilitate the worldwide reporting efforts necessary to the project. QED manages the maintenance of this website and provides technical support to all users. The website also serves as a resource where archived Annual Reports and Annexes dating back to 1996 can be accessed, and the online system allows QED to provide additional data analysis and reporting services to USAID as needed.
In recent years, QED has strengthened the MRR project by revising guidance materials, increased efficiency of support communication for data reporters, strengthening data verification and data cleaning processes, and enhancing the efficiency and functionality of the MRR website.
QED began managing the MRR project in 2006—as the MRR prime contractor under the Accelerated Microenterprise Advancement Project (AMAP) IQC. In 2010, QED entered into a partnership with DAI under the Global Business, Trade and Investment II (GBTI II) IQC and continues to play a major role in MRR administration.
