Project Update Jan 7, 2013

The “Women’s Leadership in Small & Medium Enterprises,” (WLSME) is an initiative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), established to support innovative projects that promote growth of female-led enterprises and reduce barriers to market entry. Earlier this month, the initiative’s cornerstone online community www.wlsme.org was launched to provide gender and enterprise development practitioners a space to share experiences and learn about new research.

Large Scale Sports Seminar in Turkmenistan

In September 2012, the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Governance Strengthening Project (GSP) in Turkmenistan held a three day seminar titled “International Best Practices of Organizing Large Scale Sport Games.” The QED Group, LLC, via GSP developed and coordinated the seminar and trained more than 350 civil servants on international best practices to successfully organize and implement large scale sports events.

Recently, the USAID Governance Strengthening Project, managed by QED, held a much anticipated and well-received presentation on “International Practice Management of Electronic Documents” in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences in Turkmenistan. Representatives from several Government of Turkmenistan institutions participated, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communication, the Ministry of Economy and Development and the Ministry of Finance.  Presentations were led by international experts Dr.

On November 2-3, 2011, The QED Group organized a two-day seminar on E-Governance and E-document management systems in cooperation with the National Institute of Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan. QED identified one of Russia’s leading experts on e-governance, Dmitrii Trutnev, and invited him to lead the seminar for Turkmenistan’s influential decision makers within the Government.

Project Update Aug 31, 2011

In October 2010, QED launched operations in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan for the USAID Governance Strengthening Project (GSP). QED experts are providing technical expertise, training and material assistance to the Government of Turkmenistan. The project is expected to continue through 2014.

Project Update Feb 14, 2011

In October, QED – working with Chemonics – began implementation of USAID’s Regional Afghan Municipalities Program for Urban Populations (RAMP UP) in six provinces in southern Afghanistan.
