Practice Areas

QED’s unique ability lies in the ways in which we integrate our core service areas together to provide our clients with innovative and dynamic solutions that transform the way programs function. Our in-house international technical teams have deep expertise and knowledge across these service areas, which are paired with local experts to maximize sustainable solutions.

Data, Technology, and Innovation

One of the biggest challenges in the field of international development is to understand, use, and share the data that is available to inform and drive decisions. When understood, data can be used to inspire innovations and address previously unsurmountable challenges in getting information to the people, in the right way and at the right time.

QED’s Innovation and Data Hub explores the use of technology to improve data collection, analysis and its use in complex environments. Our team of data scientists, coders and designers utilizes an iterative, human- centered process to challenge and incentivize our staff to co-design and co-create innovative solutions driven by the needs of our partners.

Global Health Solutions

QED’s Global Health Solutions (GHS) builds on our nearly 20 years of experience in monitoring and evaluating health program activities for multilateral and bilateral donors. Our GHS work has enabled organizations such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), and the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID) to improve performance and resource integration in addressing global health needs.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

QED has specialized in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) since the company was founded in 1998. We strive to improve the performance and reach of our clients’ projects and develop sustainable solutions through the application of empirical data, analytical research, and adaptable tools.

Our track record includes the completion of more than 350 project evaluations, monitoring more than $3.5 billion in development assistance in more than 95 countries, and including projects in conflict, post-conflict, and transitioning environments.

Organizational Development

QED’s approach to Organizational Development (OD) is focused on the ways in which an organization uses its resources to make better decisions, improve performance, change behavior, and manage adaptively. Although these approaches are often complemented by technology solutions, we view OD as a comprehensive set of systems, processes, and people that go beyond information technology.
