Project Description

The Services to Improve Performance Management, Enhance Learning and Evaluation (SIMPLE) is a five-year project with the goal of improving USAID/Egypt’s performance management at all levels: enabling USAID/Egypt to meet agency monitoring and evaluation requirements, make better informed strategic and management decisions, and advance learning.

This midterm evaluation was designed to assess activity performance and provide recommendations on the effectiveness to date achieving overall activity goals and objectives.

 

Sustainable Investment in Tourism in Egypt (SITE) End of Term Performance Evaluation, October 2018

The evaluation focused on evaluating the interventions proposed and implemented at cultural heritage sites in Egypt by both awardees in response to the SITE Cultural Tourism Annual Program Statement (APS).

Strengthening Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED). Midterm Performance Evaluation, November 2018

The midterm evaluation report aimed to provide USAID/Egypt with insights into the performance of SEED from November 2015 through April 2018.

Needs Assessment of Persons with Disabilities in Egyptian Public Universities and Regional Technical Colleges, December 2017

This assessment was completed to better understand the educational needs of students with disabilities, and services that public universities and regional technical colleges can provide to improve the accessibility of institutions for these students.

Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) – Egypt, 2020-2025 

With the help of QED, USAID’s Mission in Egypt created its first country-level development strategy in over a decade.

Results as of October 2020

  • Generated and disseminated evidence-based evaluation findings and recommendations
    • Completed 15 evaluations/assessments
    • Conducted 57 learning events linked to evaluations/assessments
    • Delivered 75 dissemination products
  • Strengthened the Performance Management Plan process
    • Reviewed 45 Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plans to ensure they meet USAID standards.
    • Delivered 34 analytical documents and/or tools to support program cycle needs.
  • Improved performance management and monitoring capacity of USAID/Egypt staff and partners
    • Conducted out 24 capacity building workshops, reaching 432 individuals
  • Improved data quality management
    • Completed annual data quality assessments in FY16, FY17, FY18, FY19 and FY20
