One of the biggest challenges in the field of international development is to understand, use, and share the data that is available to inform and drive decisions. When understood, data can be used to inspire innovations and address previously unsurmountable challenges in getting information to the people, in the right way and at the right time.
In 2016, QED Group launched its Innovation & Data Hub which concentrates on using data to create new learnings and provide deeper insights that inspire creative solutions to difficult problems. Our team of data scientists, coders, and ICT specialists utilizes an iterative, human-centered process to challenge and incentivize our staff to co-design and co-create innovative solutions driven by client needs.
Center for Global Data Visualization
While common place in the world of business, data analytics is underutilized in the design, implementation and evaluation of international development programs. QED’s Center for Global Data Visualization (CGDV) is designed to build data visualization capacity and strengthen a culture of data use in international development.
Working with a number of universities and private sector organizations, CGDV provides a unique platform for collaboration, offering opportunities for training, networking, publishing and professional development in data analytics and visualization. CGDV leverages increasingly accessible data visualization software to offer insights into some of the greatest challenges facing many low- and middle-income countries today.
CGDV officially launches in Spring 2019. Click here to visit the beta site.
